Navigate360: Student Success Alerts

Navigate360 is a reporting system connected with the Student Information System (Banner), which allows faculty to submit alerts to the Undergraduate Advising Office. Navigate360 alerts can be submitted by faculty who have concerns about a student's academic progress or performance. The Navigate360 system also allows faculty to submit kudos on behalf of students.

Navigate360 is managed by the Director of Student Success Programs and Services.

What happens when I file an alert?

In all but offensive conduct cases (see the How do I file an alert on offensive conduct? section below), submitting an alert immediately notifies a student's assigned advisor and/or Student Athlete Academic Support.

These members of the student success team will either immediately act on the concern or refer the student to additional services such as the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) and the Writing Center. When the student has engaged with the resource or taken appropriate action, the case will be closed in the system and information will be shared with the person who reported the alert in accordance to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines.

What happens when I file an alert on offensive conduct?

An offensive conduct alert is only issued to the Director of Student Success Programs & Services and the Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE).

The CTE Director will reach out to you to discuss the situation and determine the next best steps. In many cases, the discussion will focus on effective strategies to address and resolve the situation. In some cases, the student behavior constitutes a conduct violation, and you will be referred to the appropriate support team to address the situation. The CTE Director will work with you on your case until it has been passed to the appropriate offices or has been resolved. Students are not  informed of the initial alert, however; if the alert moves to Community Standards and Services, Department of Public Safety (DPS), or other offices as a conduct violation, the student will be informed.

When is it best to file an alert?

When you have a concern about a student, it is best to file an alert right away. We can help students be more successful, when we connect them with resources early. Relatedly, if you are filing a 'Kudos' alert, it is best to do so early, and often.
